We Are Here To Support You

We warmly invite you to connect with us to learn more about the counselling services we offer and to be connected with a counsellor.

Our counselling services are available for all women, Trans, Two-Spirit and gender diverse people aged 14 and older who have experienced a recent or historical sexual violence, as well as adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse

Counselling

At the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre, we believe that healing is possible and we are here to support you along your path to healing.

We provide both individual and counselling in groups for survivors of sexual assault and abuse.

Individual Counselling

At VSAC, Individual Counselling provides a safe, confidential, and supportive space for survivors, and assists in dealing with the most immediate emotional, physical and behavioural reactions to sexual assault. Sessions offer one-on-one guidance to reflect, process experiences, and explore next steps, with care, empathy, and respect at the heart of every interaction. Each person’s safety, autonomy, and pace are prioritized, helping them navigate healing in a way that feels right for them.

Counselling in Groups at VSAC

Counselling in groups at VSAC helps survivors heal through shared experiences, support, and skill-building. Participants learn about trauma, develop coping tools, and connect deeply with themselves and others in a safe, guided environment led by experienced facilitators.

Additional Counselling Services

  • When someone you care about has been sexually assaulted, it can be challenging to cope, know how to support them, and how to make sense of what has happened. We offer support and information to help you understand some of the related issues that may impact you and your relationship and explore ways you can provide meaningful support as a partner or ally. If you would like to access counselling support for supporters, please contact us for more information and to be connected with a counsellor.

Call our Service Access Line at 250-383-3232 or email [email protected].

  • Youth sometimes require a unique counselling experience. For youth ages 13 to 15 we work in partnership with the  Victoria Child Abuse Counselling and Prevention Centre (also known as the Mary Manning Centre) to find the best fit for the individual.  Due to the vulnerability of youth, services for them are prioritized to ensure they receive timely support. Please contact us to learn more about youth counselling services or get support.

Call our Service Access Line at 250-383-3232 or email [email protected].

  • VSAC is committed to working in collaboration with community agencies and we are proud of our 10-year-plus relationship with the Victoria Native Friendship Centre. Through this partnership, a VSAC Indigenous Counsellor is available to provide culturally grounded counselling support to Indigenous clients at either VNFC or VSAC.

This collaboration helps reduce barriers to accessing our services and supports our commitment to recognizing and responding to the disproportionate impact of sexualized violence against Indigenous women, Trans, and Two-Spirit communities.

Counselling service at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre can be accessed by connecting directly with VNFC at 250.384.3211. If you prefer to see a counsellor at VSAC, please call our Service Access Line at 250-383-3232 or email [email protected].
