Triathlon of Compassion – Volunteers Needed
Triathlon of Compassion
When: Sunday June 25, 2017 from 6:30am – 12noon
Where: Esquimalt Rec Centre
The Triathlon of Compassion is an annual fundraiser for the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre. Over the last 24 years it has raised over $240,000 to support programs and services of the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.
The Triathlon of Compassion race is ideal for first-time triathletes because of its sprint distance. We also welcome experienced athletes to use it as a tune-up or season opener. The Tri is an opportunity for participants to give back and make a difference in their community by raising money and awareness for an important cause.
The 2017 event will feature the popular adult sprint race (500m swim, 20k bike and 5k run) as well as a full range of Kids of Steel distances for ages 6 – 15 years old.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to volunteer for this positive, fun and family friendly event! Volunteering for the Triathlon of Compassion provides an avenue for you to support your community and get involved with the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.
We need 50 dedicated day-of volunteers like you to help direct the athletes throughout the run and bike course to keep them safe as well as them cheer on! Some volunteers will be asked to hand out water to the athletes as well as direct some traffic. Instructions will be provided day of the event to all volunteers

- able to stand for long periods of time
- comfortable standing in the sun for up to 4 -6 hours
If you have any mobility challenges and have concerns about being able to volunteer, let us know and together we can figure out can we can make work!
