Great Events for a Great Cause!

In June of this year the 23rd annual Triathlon of Compassion and the 5th annual Victoria Goddess Run will be happening.  Year after year, these events see hundreds, even thousands of people come out to support the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.  Below are some important event details, how to register and how to start fundraising!

23rd annual Triathlon of Compassion

When: Sunday, June 26th 2016

Where: Esquimalt Rec Centre (527 Fraser Street)

What: For the last 23 year the Triathlon of Compassion has been supporting the programs and services of the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.  With a 500m swim, 20k bike and 5k run, the Triathlon of Compassion race is ideal for first-timers because of its sprint distances and experienced athletes often use it as a tune-up for longer triathlons.  The 2016 event will feature a full range of youth distances (ages 6 – 15 yrs old).

Registration: Now open, participants can register today!

Fundraising:  Each participate has the opportunity to create their own personalized on-line fundraising page to raise pledges for the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.  Create one here!   Since its inception, the Triathlon of Compassion has raised over $215,000 to support programs and services of the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.  Help us add to that total this year!

Did you know?  You have the chance to win some fabulous prizes if you fundraise!

  • Raise $200 and receive a one of a kind Triathlon of Compassion keepsake

“I have never done a triathlon before.”: Not a problem!  The Triathlon of Compassion is a great event for first time triathletes.  What to learn more ?  We will host an info session of Sunday, May 8th @2pm for folks to learn about what to expect leading up to and on event day, as well as provide some useful guidance on preparing for a triathlon.

5th Annual Victoria Goddess Run

When: Friday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 5th

Where:  The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa (Expo, Sunset Yoga, Bathrobe Run, Pearl Putting Contest, and music concert), Eagle Ridge Community Centre in Langford (start point for 5k, 10k and 15k).

What: The Victoria Goddess Run is a packed weekend (June 3-5,) full of amazing activities, including a 5K, 10K, 15K, Kids Run, Bathrobe Run, Yoga at Sunset, Pearl Putting Contest and a music concert on the Saturday night.  Sign up for what event sounds fun to you!  This annual event brings together thousands of  energetic participants and supports three local charities in Victoria (Victoria Sexual Assault Centre, Victoria Women’s Transition House, and KidSport).

Registration:  Sign up today!  Early bird registration ends April 15th!  Everyone that registers has the option to donate a part of their registration to one of the 3 local charities the Victoria Goddess Run supports, which includes the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre!

Fundraising:  Participants have the option to create their own on-line fundraising page to raise funds for the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.  It is easy to set up and you can create one here.

On of our Board of Directors, Kelly Branchi, has signed up to be a Goddess Run Charity Champion for the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre.  She has set a goal of raising $2,000 for VSAC.  If you would like to help Kelly reach her goal, you can check out her fundraising page here.
